KJH PTSA 2010 Bond and Levy Resolution
(Adopted at the PTSA Board meeting held on 12/9/2009)
Whereas it is the mission of the Kenmore PTSA to promote the welfare of all students and provide staff support, and one of our goals is to promote legislative awareness, and
Whereas education funding is a critical issue impacting the Northshore School District and thus its students, and
Whereas there is an approximate 20% gap between what the state allocates for basic education and what the district funds, and
Whereas the Education Operation Support Levy would bridge said funding gap, paying for instructional support, student services, transportation, class size, and staff salaries, and
Whereas the School Technology Levy provides funds for technology upgrades, and
Whereas the Capital Projects Bond funds the renovation and modernization of school facilities to keep our students and staff safe, and
Whereas the 2010 Northshore School District Bond and Levies would provide substatntial support to our schools and our children, and
Whereas failure of the 2010 Northshore School District Bond and Levies could result in the loss of approximately $37 to $40 million to Northshore School District's annual operational budget, which would lead to severe cuts to educational programs and crucial services to students be it
RESOLVED that the Kenmore PTSA fully supports the 2010 Northshore School District Bond and Levies.
